The Lawn is a notable building in the early nineteenth century, built in the Greek Renaissance style, located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England. The building is designed by Richard ingleman and its purpose was to serve as a shelter, providing psychiatric treatment until 1985, when it was closed. Lincoln City Council purchased the Lawn Hospital, including land areas where it was built, in 1985, the sum of 425,000 pounds and, after extensive renovation, Lawn complex was officially opened on 20 November 1990. It functioned as a place for organizing various events under the control of until, in October 2011, has decided to sell it. The Lawn is located near Lincoln Castle on Union Road, 500 meters west of Lincoln Cathedral and includes a number of important buildings, a hotel, a rose garden and a children’s play area, situated on a large lawn. Previously, the complex housed a military museum and a museum dedicated to Lindum Colonia Roman colony, from which the city name Lincoln. The main building is used as a conference center. The building where they were accommodated in the past nurses and doctors is now a boutique hotel.
