It is the only pub in the seventeenth century in London, built of wood that survived the Great Fire of 1666. At that time it was just a house, and will be converted into pub a century later. It is located on Aldgate High Street 47 and is composed of a large hall decorated separée glass, brick walls and wooden benches. Hoops and Grapes is one of the gems in the Nicholson’s collection of great British pubs, with a very good reputation based on different construction, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.
