Cotch Castle is a nineteenth century castle built in Gothic Revival style on the site of a thirteenth-century fortification. It is located on a hill near the village of Tongwynlais, north of the city of Cardiff. It has a fairytale castle look. The Third Marquess of Bute commissioned its construction in 1875. The castle was designed and build by architect William Burges and is the most splendid example of the transition from Gothic to Victorian.
